Las Cruces - A bus that caught fire could not have stopped at a better location.

Firefighters were eating breakfast nearby..

Smoke was billowing out of the engine of the bus as it drove down Amador Avenue and Solano Drive.

The driver and more than 30 passengers got out safely.

The Greyhound Americanos bus was en route from Denver to El Paso when the engine problems developed.

While the firemen were nicely located, I noticed the bus was across the street from the Diamond Shamrock station, which has on the average 20 to 30 thousand gallons of fuel. No wonder the firemen showed up so fast.
