Horizon City — A three-vehicle accident in Horizon City involved a Clint ISD school bus. It happened Friday morning before 8:00 a.m. on Horizon Boulevard. Clint ISD says nine students were transported to various hospitals after complaining of minor injuries.
Police say the school bus was stopped at a stop light and a second vehicle was stopped behind it when a third vehicle failed to notice the stopped traffic ahead and struck the second vehicle which then struck the school bus. The driver, 21 year-old Brianna Cardenas, was cited for: no driver's license; failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to control speed.
The school district issued the following statement:
"A Clint ISD bus was involved in an accident this morning. 17 students and driver were on the bus with no serious injuries reported. 9 students were transported to the hospital as a precaution and accompanied by District officials. All parents of students involved were notified by District officials as well. Student and employee safety is paramount in Clint ISD. We would like to thank the first responders, District employees, and parents for their assistance and cooperation during this incident."
