Burner Causes Restaurant Fire

EL PASO, TX — A restaurant in the Lower Valley goes up in flames and investigators said it was caused by a burner that was left on overnight.
The fire started at the El Zarape Restaurant on the North Loop just after midnight Saturday. Firefighters put it out in about 20 minutes. Investigators said it started in the kitchen area after an employee left a burner on.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time.
Damages are estimated at $10,000.
