UPDATE:

The El Paso Fire Department confirmed that a woman in her 40's was taken to the Lubbock Burn Center after she sustained second degree burns to 35-40% of her body.

The woman has not been identified, but police charged her son, David Meza, 19, with arson and aggravated assault with a weapon. Meza is accused of allegedly starting the fire that caused his mother's injuries, and is also accused of stabbing his brother in the back.

According to George DeLaTorre, Spokesman for the El Paso Fire Department, Meza got into a fight with his 27-year-old brother, then threw a pile of his brother's clothes on the front lawn, poured gasoline on the clothes and lit them on fire.

The woman reportedly tried to move the clothes away from a nearby car, and also tried to put the fire out when her own clothes caught on fire, causing the second degree burns.

A neighbor drove her to the hospital, and she was then transported to the Lubbock Burn Center on Tuesday evening.

The 27-year-old man who was stabbed was treated at Del Sol Medical Center, and was later released.

Meza also suffered second degree burns on his stomach, but was also treated and released.
