"The Bronx" Strip Club to Open Doors in Las Cruces
LAS CRUCES — "The Bronx" strip club is coming to Las Cruces.
Despite the recommendation from the planning and zoning commission, Las Cruces city council Monday overturned the decision to deny a special use permit for the strip club.
Council voted 6 to 1 to approve the permit that allows the club to open off of West Amador Avenue near Eros, the adult book store.
Las Cruces attorney Karen Wootten told councilors if the permit was not approved, she planned to file a federal lawsuit.
A vote for a liquor license for the club ended in a tie, meaning the state will now decide if the club can sell alcohol.
