VINTON, Texas -- El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies and several other law enforcement agencies are looking for a man who escaped their custody and is armed with guns, a bullet proof vest and a sheriff's radio.

Deputies went to execute a warrant for Fernando Lavenant on the 400 block of Rancho Estancias Drive in Vinton Thursday morning.

Deputies said Lavenant was placed in an unmarked unit then assaulted a detective and left in the unit.

Sheriff's deputies said he is armed and dangerous.

The Anthony Independent School District is on lock down and Canutillo High School is also on lockdown.

Deputies said if you see him, do not approach him, call 911.

Lavenant was last seen wearing a white shirt, grey pants and is in possession of weapons.

SOUNDS LIKE THEY GOT HIM.

BOZOS, Sleep safety tonight your BOZOs Sheriff's Department is awake. This is the type of law enforcement you get with Richard Wiles and Bill Ellis. You get what you voted for EL PASO.

Duh, which way did he go??
EPIC FAIL LAW ENFORCEMENT!!

Time for a S.W.A.T unit to do its thing.

Why would only one deputiy attempt to arrest this man if he was considered to be dangerous? I am a very concerned parent who feels helpless and angry while my kids' school is on lockdown!

Northwest Early College is on lock down too
