The U.S. Border Patrol agent who was involved in a shooting that killed a 15-year-old Mexican boy along the U.S./Mexico border this summer, has returned to regular duty.

That's according to a spokesperson for the Border Patrol.

The agent, who's name has not been released, returned to duty shortly after the shooting on June 7th.

The agent shot the teen after allegedly being attacked with rocks while on patrol near the Paso del Norte port of entry.

Every effort must be made to protect the identity of the BP officer and his family. His identity is know by the proper authorities and that's all that needs to be known. Otherwise the BP officer would be compromised and he couldn't accomplish his assigned duties. Its a matter of security.

Sounds like a double standard to me. the person who gets shot, their name is published, but the shooter, in this case a BP agent, his/her name does not. What gives? This only reinforces the badge heavy law enforcement bad guys out there to act with impunity.

Glad he is back on the Job!
