"Once I came here, I liked it and I stayed," Frutas said.
He didn't have anywhere to go after school, so his dad suggested The Boys and Girls Club.
They helped him learn English, get better at math and practice his favorite sport boxing.
"They are kind of your mom and your dad, but without scolding you that much," Frutas said.
The kids who come here after school ate ice cream Thursday night. It was a party to thank Walgreens for giving the club money and gifts during Christmas.
"It's a wonderful feeling, you know, it warms our hearts and it's the reason why we know, ok this is why we're going to do it again next year and even bigger and better," said Walgreens manager Brian Rodriguez.
"With The Boys and Girls Club, they changed me a lot," Frutas said. "They abstained me from getting into gangs, drugs, which you can see around here everywhere".
