Boyfriend pleads not guilty in murder of teacher
CARLSBAD, N.M. — A Texas man accused of killing his girlfriend last month in Lovington, N.M. pleaded not guilty Tuesday.
Robert Earley, 33, waived his right to appear for his arraignment.
Earlier this month, he reported his girlfriend Emily Lambert missing, but Carlsbad police say he eventually confessed to the murder and showed officers where to find the 30-year-old's body.
The couple is originally from the Dallas area and he was working in New Mexico in the oil fields.
He's facing charges of first degree murder, tampering with evidence, and kidnapping in the first degree.
He's currently in jail on a $1 million bond.
