EL PASO — A one-year-old boy who nearly drowned in east El Paso is in critical, but stable condition on Sunday.

The boy's father found him at the bottom of the backyard pool at the home on Quail Harvest and Valley Quail at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

The father performed CPR until emergency crews arrived.

The boy was hospitalized at University Medical Center.
