Update: Border Patrol just released a statement about yesterday's shooting, in which a teenage boy was killed on the Mexican side of the border.

"Preliminary reports indicate Customs and Border Protection El Paso sector Border Patrol agents performing bike patrol duties were assaulted by rocks by an unknown number of people. During the assault at least one agent discharged his firearm. The agent is currently on administrative leave. A thorough multi agency investigation is ongoing. "

if i were to throw a rock at u and it hit ur head i wonder what the most damage it can cause. meaning anything thrown at u can b e dangerous and at times fatal, and just because children are children does not mean they cant or are not incapable of doing no harm to others.

Oh please just because he's in the Border Patrol it doesnt give him the right to shoot a young teenage boy for throwing rocks. First of all the boy was on the Mexican side of the border so the agent had no right to shoot him and second he's a little kid since when do kids get killed for playing with rocks. I appriciate our local law inforcement for everything they do but when one officer believes he can do whatever he wants because he carries a gun then i loose respect for them.Charge him!

Yeah..... thats exactly what its like. You get the death penalty for throwing rocks now? This is absurd. "Only as duty calls him to do"?? Give me a break. I don't think they're just supposed to shoot high school kids in the head.

Rocks could have caused severe bodily injury or even death and we don't even know how many rocks were thrown? I am sure the rock throwers knew the Border Patrol Officer was armed. It's like hitting a Lion and not expecting the Lion to defend itself. Esecially since the Officer was only Patroling the Border as his duty calls him to do. Even though sadly the result was death, I do not lay blame on the Border Patrol Officer. Maybe next time he who casts the next stone will think twice!!!!
