EL PASO - A local advocacy group is protesting the deployment of National Guard troops on the U.S./Mexico border.

Guardsmen are due to arrive on Sunday.

The Border Network for Human Rights says militarization of the border is not without consequences.

The organization says it is time to rethink border policy and that increasing the number of armed agents and soldiers on the border does not enhance national security.

The Border Network delivered a letter to U.S. Representative Silvestre Reyes urging him to take the lead in opposing the further militarization of the border.

Since the cops and mexican soldiers/police are on the take why not bring in the troops to re-inforce the border. Won't be long til some of them start being on the take anyway.

Besides, the ones that are protesting are the ones who help the drug lords or help others to come into this country. Try looking it that way then you might just get a surprise....

I say pick up the whole dam* bunch of them and throw them over to Mexico!

All this cause the Obama minitrastion wants these future votes instead of doing the right thing. It was a time when we welcome any and all races and thats what makes the U.S. so unique, but now that we have grown tremedously we now must be more selective. Unfortanetly its something every country deals with and in hind sight we have the most laxed immigration laws even done the legal way compared to all others.

Its sad our president is allowing these people to spit on our laws and procedures.

I couldnt qualify for Financial Aid, but i see all these people from Juarez coming over getting the College paid for, driving BMWs and Mercedes. That is what really upsets me the most. Also, they come over to have there babies so they dont have to pay and there kids become U.S. citizens. Come on, when is the U.S. going to do something.

Really, those people that are protesting it are the ones with families that come over illegally. I don't see how adding more security will cause a problem. That means there will be more eyes and bodies to protect our U.S. Citizens. I dont know why immigrants cannot follow rules and go through the right channels to come over legally. We cant just allow whomever to come across the border and take advantage of all the programs here in the U.S.

Explain to me how a bunch of women and children protesting at the park and soiling the American flag will enhance national security? Will these people stop the bullets from drug cartels?

These juarenos should be glad that more troops are being sent to the border, at least they're guaranteed some level of security, whatever. These protestors are illiterates and simpletons anyway, they have no clue as to what they are protesting against, but are lackeys being manipulated by their 'gente'.
