EL PASO - The boil water alert is no longer in effect, but residents across the city are still being asked to conserve water.

El Paso Water Utilities rescinded the boil water notice this morning at 10 a.m.; they said tests confirmed the water is safe to drink.

El Pasoans, however, are urged to refrain from outdoor irrigation until Sunday.

Despite the water utility restoring its service, some customers still do not have water. EPWU said that may be because some have yet to turn on their valve at the meter box, or because of plumbing problems.

El Paso Water Utilities said they will work with customers who lost large amounts of water because of leaking pipes. They are telling people to wait until they get their bill, then contact EPWU's Customer Service Department and apply for an adjustment.
