The El Paso Police Department is on the scene in El Paso's Upper Valley this morning, after a call came into dispatch shortly after 9:30 a.m. reporting the discovery of a body in the canal off of Upper Valley Road and Villa Antigua Ct.

At this time, police are waiting for dive teams to arrive to assist in the recovery of the body. A spokesman with EPPD says that he does not believe the discovery is suspicious at this time, but they will know more as they recover the body.

Motorists should use caution while traveling in the area as emergency crews and El Paso Police continue their investigation in the area.

We will continue to follow the story and update as more information becomes available.
