Blockbuster closings will not impact the Borderland
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — A Blockbuster bust means a Blockbuster boom here in the Borderland. After years of declining sales, the movie chain is closing its remaining 300 corporate retail stores nationwide by January.
However, about 50 franchise stores will remain open, and more than half of them are located either along the Texas-Mexico border or in Alaska.
All seven of El Paso's stores will remain open.
