Black bears come down Sandia mountains into Albuquerque
Albuquerque, NM (KTSM) — It's been a busy season for the New Mexico Game and Fish Department this year as Albuquerque has been a slew of black bears.
Wednesday game and fish officials were busy trying to track down three bears that were seen in the northeast section of town.
Officials in Albuquerque say it's been one of the busiest bear seasons in recent memory.
New Mexico Game and Fish say part of the reason they're seeing so many bears is not because there's a lack of food in the mountains, but rather because the bears are adolescents on their own for the first time.
