Baltimore Ravens to help promote open enrollment for Obamacare
The state of Maryland is teaming up with an unlikely ally to promote Obamacare, the Baltimore Ravens. Governor Anthony Brown says the Superbowl Champs will educate football fans on open enrollment for the state's healthcare marketplace.
Brown says the team can reach and engage people, citing research that shows 71 percent of the state's uninsured have watched, attended, or listened to a Raven's game.
The National Football League decided not to work with the Obama administration to promote healthcare reform. However they've allowed individual teams to work with states on educational campaigns for open enrollment. The open enrollment begins on October 1, 2013.
