Baby Girl Doing Well After Open Heart Surgery
EL PASO, TX — Five days after having open heart surgery, a baby girl is doing better than doctors expected.
Baby Erin Marquez was born with two holes in her heart and she's been fighting for her life since day one.
On Friday, she had her fourth open heart surgery in San Antonio.
Operation Hope stepped in to help Erin's family with the costs.
Erin is doing well.
"Her dad called yesterday afternoon and he's ecstatic that she's doing great. She's taking a walk in the hallway at the hospital. She's doing better than what they expected after having her open heart surgery on Friday," said Angel Gomez with Operation Hope.
Gomez said this is Erin's last open heart surgery.
