EL PASO--- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has released an audio recording of a conversation they say took place earlier this week between ex-deputy Hector Montes and the woman who he allegedly tried to dismiss a ticket in exchange for sexual favors.
The entire recording was more than seven minutes long, and while parts were inaudible, one distinct phrase could be heard.
"Te quiero hacerte el amor." said a male voice, which deputies say is that of Montes telling the woman he wants to make love to her.
Later on in the recording, the couple talk about meeting in person at a later time and also about information on a ticket the woman received.
It was earlier this week when deputies charged Montes with Official Oppression charges stemming from a disorderly conduct incident Wednesday.
Deputies say he told a woman he would get her ticket dismissed in exchange for sexual favors.
Montes later told news outlets he felt he was being set up.
Friday, Montes resigned from the Sheriff's Office.
"The evidence (audio) will show there is no truth to ex-Deputy Sgt. Montes' claims of this incident being a set up," said Sheriff Richard Wiles.
