Asthma Picking Up
With all this high wind and dust flying around, many allergy clinics are seeing an increase in patients complaining of asthma-like symptoms.
Lelia Gaines, an allergy and asthma specialist, said that it has been especially bad this year because of the windy spring that we had.
"Any kind of weather change, it seems to instigate symptoms of both allergies and asthma," Dr. Gaines said. She said those suffering from asthma and allergies should avoid exercising in the morning when pollen is close to the ground. She also recommends you stay at home during the hottest part of the day and make sure you always have your medication with you.
