Lead and arsenic may have seeped into the Rio Grande in West El Paso, but it didn't come from the ASARCO site. That's what lawyers for Asarco are alleging, and they're blaming their neighbors, Cemex.

ASARCO has filed a lawsuit against the company asking the court to order Cemex to help share $19 million in clean-up costs. In 2009 ASARCO agreed to remediate the International Boundary and Water Commission site off of West Paisano, right near the old ASARCO smelter and Cemex. That's where the pollution was found.

ASARCO alleges two Cemex units are to blame. The suit is scheduled to go to trial June 7th.

Boy, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. If Asarco wins will they donate the money to the people of El Paso, Juarez and UTEP students who were poisoned by their pollutants. The arrogance of Asarco keeps on going. No tienen verguenza.
