EL PASO - Later today El Paso county leaders and law enforcement will be talking about their plan to prevent even more fires this Fourth of July.

The county has banned the sale and use of all fireworks in the county this Independence Day.

At 10:00 a.m. today, county leaders, firefighters and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office will hold a news conference to talk about how serious the drought is.  They'll also talk about how deputies plan to enforce the ban.

The fine for getting caught with fireworks is $500.
