Are Students Traveling to Juarez for Spring Break?
EL PASO - It's Spring Break for thousands of students across the Borderland and while Mexico has always been a popular destination, the Department of Public Safety is warning Americans not to travel to 14 Mexican states, including Chihuahua.
But, are more Americans crossing even though the violence in Juarez continues?
A state report reveals that 120 Americans were killed in Mexico last year, and many have been victims of kidnapping, car jacking, and highway robbery, but that doesn't seem to be stopping Americans and yes even Spring Breakers from going south to get the Mexico Spring Break experience.
One bar manager in Juarez told us business is doing well this week.
"I've seen good results. I see that Americans, Europeans, people from everywhere are coming back to our city. And at work we've seen that they're coming out more and they're spending a lot in restaurants and bars."
Again the Department of State warns that you should avoid traveling to Ciudad Juarez.
