Another case of West Nile Virus has been confirmed in El Paso. According to the El Paso Department of Public Health, the newest victim is a 66 year-old man from the Upper Valley, now living in the 79932 zip code.

Ten people have now contracted the virus here this year, but no deaths have been reported. That's down from 24 cases and 5 deaths this same time last year.

Meanwhile, if you want to know where Vector Control has sprayed for mosquitoes in El Paso, all you need to do is log on-line. The city's Environmental Services Department has created a new web based map highlighting treatment and mosquito trapping areas.

"You can even click on the link and a report will pop up showing the viewers how many mosquitoes were found and what species and if any were positive for West Nile Virus," explains Karl Rimkus, an environmental scientist with the city.

Crews have been busy responding to 900 calls about mosquitoes over the past 2 months. Meanwhile, Fort Bliss is also warning soldiers that mosquitoes on post have tested positive for the virus. Specifically, in the water outflow area outside of the Combat Aviation Brigade headquarters.
