EL PASO- The Animal Rescue League of El Paso is looking for people to adopt dogs and cats.

The shelter is full this winter as they are seeing an extremely high return rate for adopted animals. "We want people to understand this is a lifetime commitment, this is a forever home for these guys. These guys have already been dumped 2 or 3 times already, we want this to be their final forever home, this is it," said Elsa Escobar.

The shelter suggests, if you are interested in adopting an animal, doing your research. Find out the breed of the dog or cat and the specific needs and wants for that animal to live a healthy and happy life.

The animal shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter for abandoned, injured, abused and stray animals. If you'd like more information visit http://www.arlep.org.

El Paso is not a pet friendly city to begin with, and to add insult to injury it is a high kill zone. Over twenty five thousand cats and dogs get euthanized every year in El Paso, that is a very high kill rate.
I feel sorry for these poor critters because there are people here in El Paso that threat animals pretty cruel or abandon them.
