Andress High teacher resigns after abandoning job
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — An Andress High School teacher is out of a job after she just stopped showing up for work. The new EPISD Board of Trustees last night decided to terminate Christina Castellano's contract.
Castellano was a math teacher at Andress and last taught during the 2009 -2010 school year. Board members say the decision to officially fire her was long overdue
"It was a matter of formality. She's gone form the district. No one can find her. We don't know where she is," said Dee Margo, the new EPISD board president.
School district officials were able to finally able to speak with Castellano today after friends saw media reports and tracked her down. She no longer lives in Texas. Today the district agreed to accept her resignation instead of terminating her contract.
