Affluenza teen, who killed four people, to attend treatment center
Ft. Worth, TX (CNN) — The teenager who got 10 years probation for killing four people in a DUI accident, will attend a treatment center in Texas.
That comes from a Fort Worth judge who presided over a closed hearing for Ethan Couch Wednesday.
Couch's case sparked national outrage when defense lawyers argued the teen's behavior was the result of an upbringing without consequences, something they called "Affluenza."
Psychologist not involved with the case were quick to point out there's no such thing as Affluenza.
According to a witness in the courtroom, an upscale treatment facility in California refused to admit Couch due to the publicity over his case.
We don't know the exact details of the Texas facility where Couch will be sent.
