NewsChannel 9 has learned more about what led the the arrest of Laura Carsner.

According to court documents, Carsner confessed to shooting her mother and step-father.

Police found the bodies of 66-year-old Alejandro Quiroz and 68-year-old Irma Quiroz in the backyard of their home Saturday evening.

According to an affidavit, the 47-year-old shot her parents while her two young nephews were also in the backyard.

Investigators say the kids later told their dad "their aunt had killed grandma and grandpa."

A neighbor also claims seeing Carsner go into the backyard of her parents home and then heard gunshots.

The neighbor says Carsner then ran outside and drove off in a van.

Investigators say Carsner drove to an acquaintances house in Vinton and told him she'd done something bad.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the home and arrested her.

They also recovered a handgun from her van.

We spoke with a man at the house who says his dad knows Carsner through Alcoholics Anonymous but he isn't sure why she confided in him.

Police are not talking about a motive.
