9 Border Patrol Stations To Close, 6 In Texas
EL PASO — A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed that nine Border Patrol stations will soon be closed to move agents closer to the southern and northern borders.
Of the nine stations set to close, six are in Texas and include stations in Abilene, San Angelo, Dallas, San Antonio, Lubbock and Amarillo.
The others are in California, Montana and Idaho.
A total of 41 agents will be reassigned.
The changes are expected to take place within the next six months.
U.S. Customs officials predict closing the nine posts will save more than $1,000,000 a year.
