EL PASO - El Paso Electric crews have restored power to thousands of customers, after a power outage early Thursday morning.

According to EP Electric officials, about 7,000 customers in northeast and central El Paso were affected.
A technical problem at the substation on Dyer and Leo in the northeast caused the outage at 5:25 a.m.  Crews restored power by 6:20 a.m.

They resotred the power with a coat hanger and duct tape.

There are no excuses for something like this because how is it the electrical grid had no way to re-route power to the majority of the affected customers?
