El Paso -- On 05-20-10 at about 2100 hrs the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of possible narcotic activity. The investigation led Sheriff’s Deputies to the JC Penney located at 1950 Joe Battle. Deputies seized a Dodge minivan which was loaded with (251) pounds of marijuana. Two subjects were arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

On 05-24-10 the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received information in reference to possible narcotic activity. Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop, on US 54 near Montana, on a 2008 Holiday Rambler. A K9 search of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert for narcotics. The RV was then taken to the Bridge of the Americas (BOTA) where an x-ray revealed several bundles hidden in the rear of the vehicle. With the assistance of Customs and Border Protection personnel Sheriff’s Deputies recovered a total of 350.5 lbs of marijuana. The driver (sole occupant) was arrested and booked and the RV was seized.

On 05-24-10 about 2:00 pm, Sheriff’s Office personnel went to the 8000 block of Mitzie Ram in follow up to the traffic stop on the RV. Deputies made contact with a male subject who claimed ownership of an enclosed trailer located on a vacant lot. A K9 search resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics and a search warrant was obtained. The search resulted in the seizure of 153.5 lbs of marijuana. The male was placed under arrest and his Ford F-150 and trailer were seized.
