3 teen girls accused of breaking into grandma's home, stealing car

Three teen girls are behind bars at the juvenile detention center after police said they broke into a home and stole a car. 

The victim was one of the girls' grandmother. Detectives said they rang her doorbeel and two of the suspects held her down when she opened the door while the granddaughter grabbed the keys to the vehicle. . After opening the door, Olivares and Martinez forced their way in and held the woman down while Benavidez entered the home and took the keys to her grandmother’s vehicle.

The woman recognized her granddaughter’s voice during the ordeal.

On Saturday, the 53-year-old woman learned that her granddaughter was trying to sell the Geo and that it was parked at a residence on Porter Drive. The woman received a ride to that address and retrieved her vehicle before calling police, detectives said.

Officers located the three girls as they walked along Porter Drive.
