Red Sands — 3 people are hospitalized after a social gathering turns violent. Investigators say the incident happened about a half mile away from Red Sands a little before 10 PM on Sunday. They say a group hosted a gathering in the area when another group arrived in a car. According to Sheriff's Deputies, the women and the other group of people began to fight and in the midst of the fight, 2 men were stabbed.
"Once the females started fighting the males in the group that were already there attempted to break up the fight. The males in the vehicle got out and started fighting with those males," Deputy Manny Marquez told us. He also told us the two stabbing victims were both men - 23 and 25 years old - and both men sustained stab wounds to their upper body.
There was a third person who was hospitalized and investigators believe she was involved in the fight.
She, along with 2 other females, were found at a nearby Circle K after a 911 call was placed. At this point investigators have not released how the two groups know each other and why the fight erupted.
