3-D Image Helping With Fight Against Breast Cancer
A new type of mammogram is helping doctors find the smallest tumors. It's similar to a traditional mammogram, but it actually images the breast tissue in 3-D and that's helping doctors be more accurate so they can diagnose cancer earlier and save lives.
Conventional mammograms are two dimensional and takes only two images of each breast, one from the side and one on top. With the 3-D version, many images of the breast are taken from different angles.
