EL PASO — Beto O'Rourke and Barbara Carrasco went head to head in a debate Thursday for District 16 Congressional seat at Coronado High school

Carrasco is the Republican candidate, her opponent, former City Rep. Beto O'Rourke, defeated incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary election earlier this year.

Only one Republican has occupied the District 16 seat since it was created in 1903.
