2 Wanted Child Sex Offenders Caught At Ports of Entry
EL PASO - In the last seven days, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have arrested two men wanted for sexually assaulting a child, as well as 23 other fugitives.
On March 14, 74-year-old Jose Maria Urias tried to cross into the U.S. in a pick-up truck at the Presidio port of entry. Officers found that a warrant was out for his arrest for aggravated sexual assault of a child in Presidio, TX. He's since been turned over to Presidio police.
On March 19, 32-year-old Armando Valenzuela tried to cross into the U.S. on foot at the Fort Hancock port of entry. Valenzuela told officers he was wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child in Hudspeth County and has since been turned over to the Hudspeth County Sheriff's office.
Officers also seized 2,302 pounds of marijuana in different seizures, as well as 98 pounds of cocaine and one pound of methamphetamine.
