EL PASO — A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after a car hits him in east El Paso.

Police said the man was trying to run from police officers when he walked into traffic and was hit on Lee Trevino near James Watt just after 2: a.m. Sunday.

The driver that hit him didn't stop, but was later found.

Police have not charged the driver.

It's unclear why the 19-year-old man was running from police.
