14 Borderland agents investigated for corruption

Allegations are surfacing of widespread corruption by federal agents along the U.S. border. According to the Center for Investigative Reporting,144 agents have been investigated or convicted on various corruption charges in just the past couple of years. Of the 144 investigated, 47 of those agents are from Texas or New Mexico and 14 are from the Borderland. Most of the charges are related to drug trafficking, human smuggling, or bribery.

I wonder if these are veteran agents or if they are part of the new crop of agents that were hired when the hiring standards were lowered in order to quickly get more agents (thousands) on board. Unfortunately we as a country have not learned that integrity, honesty & dedication to the job is not something that can be aquired. Either you have it or you don't. That is why hiring standards should never be lowered if anything they should be enhanced.
