Prisilla Ibarra, 12, was in Juarez visting family for the weekend. She was killed along with her 14 year old cousin. Family friends say the two teens were on their way to get a hamburger when gunmen started shooting and they were caught in the crossfire.

Ibarra lived in El Paso and was an American Citizen. She was heading into the 7th grade at Garcia Enriquez Middle School in San Elizario.

Ibarra was shot around 9 p.m. Saturday night in an area of Juarez near the Fabens border. Police say gunmen were targeting someone else, but Ibarra ended up being hit by several bullets.

We spoke with a family friend from a local Christian Ministry who says Ibarra was an honor roll student with big dreams. They can't believe her life was taken away so senselessly.
