A 10-year old girl continues her misssion to save pets in need to benefit the Animal Rescue League.

In 2011 Eleanor Ann Schoenbrun (then age 8) started Pennies Fur Pets as part of the nationwide Make a Difference Day Project.

Her fundraising efforts resulted in a donation of over $17,800 in just three years to the El Paso Animal Rescue League.

On Make a Difference Day, October 26, 2013 Eleanor and Pennies Fur Pets will host a six-hour fundraising drive that will again benefit the Animal Rescue League from 8:00am to 2:00pm at two El Paso Starbucks locations (6015-A N. Mesa St. at Sunland Park Drive - MAIN VENUE)

Eleanor simply asks, “that El Paso animal lovers stop by and donate whatever they can even if it is just pocket-change, because every penny is a step towards saving an animal’s life.”

Hoping to inspire other children to volunteer in our community, Pennies Fur Pets has rallied several groups to help raise fund this year including Golden Key Honor Society at UTEP and students from Loretto and Coronado High School.

Pennies Fur Pets is dedicated to fundraising and collecting supplies to help care for animals that are homeless and cannot help themselves. Founder, ten-year-old Eleanor Ann Schoenbrun believes that "Every furry friend deserves a FURever home."
