A three day operation in the county of El Paso has generated the arrest of 10 individuals on prostitution charges.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Strike Team, the El Paso County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division, the FBI and HSI all worked together during the operation.

Officials said the operation was conducted at various hotels in El Paso County and targeted websites that offered escort services.

Officials said the aim was to identify individuals being forced into prostitution.

The agencies were able to arrest 10 people as a result of the operation.

They have been identified (from left to right, top to bottom) Sylvia Gonzalez, 23, Alexa Carrillo, 18, D’Ericka Palmer, 18, Monique Rojas, 19, Alicia Nevarez, 21, Nallely Bautista, 19 and Kaitin Fisher, 22.

In addition Maria Blake, 43 and Ronald Lee Blake, 43, and Jesus Aguirre, were arrested on aggravated promotion of prostitution charges.

This story does not pass the smell test. Officials say that the sting was conducted to identify individuals being forced into prostitution yet it looks like they arrested the very individuals they were trying to identify, supposedly to protect them from those who were apparently forcing them into prostitution. Can we get some REAL investigative reporters that do real investigative reporting?
