1 Person Killed, 1 Injured in Overnight Shooting
EL PASO - The Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly overnight shooting at a house party in far east El Paso County.
One person was killed an another was transported to the hospital with injuries. The shooting happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Jamin Place.
"According to witnesses, there were groups at this residence that started to argue. The party appeared to get out of hand and resulted in fights on and off the property. In the end, it resulted in a shooting" said Deputy Angelica Becerra with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
According to emergency scanners, deputies rushed into the home and found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left arm. He was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Deputies have not released the name, nor age of the person who died.
According to scanners, deputies chased a group of men who left the party in a car. Becerra said five people are currently in custody for questioning.
