CONSUMER NEWS: iPhone Battery Outrage

By Elsa Valenzuela

A consumer advocacy group is outraged over Apple's battery replacement program for the iPhone.

The iPhone's battery is soldered inside the phone and cannot be swapped out like most cell phones. The owner must send the iPhone to Apple for battery service.

It'll also cost $79 dollars, plus six dollars and ninety-five cents for shipping to replace the battery. That cost does not include a price for a loaner phone, which Apple offers for twenty-nine dollars.
