Wednesday, February 14, 2007  - Banks are keeping an eye out for your refund. Citibank, Wells Fargo and Countrywide are just three of the banks that are stepping up their efforts to get you to direct deposit your tax refund into their accounts. Starting this year, the IRS is allowing taxpayers to split up their tax refunds into as many as three different accounts. This year $149 billion dollars in tax refunds were directly deposited.

Southwest Airlines has raised prices again on its longest domestic flights as much as ten dollars. The increase follows a year when Southwest increased fare prices six times. That price applies to flights over 1,000 miles. American, Continental and Northwest Airlines quickly matched the fare increase.
