Rap Star Flavor Flav Arrested
Former rap star Flavor Flav was arrested Wednesday in Las Vegas, Nevada, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and battery in a case involving his fiancee of eight years, police said.
Police were called to their house on the city's south side at 3:30 a.m., according to a domestic battery report issued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to the report, Flav, whose real name is William J. Drayton, 53, was arguing with the woman, Elizabeth Trujillo, 39.
The two were in a verbal arguement where Trujillo accused him of cheating on her. The argument later became a physical altercation. Drayton allegedly grabbed Trujillo and threw her to the ground a few times, ripping an earring out of her ear.
Trujillo's 17-year-old son then defended his mother, wrestling with Drayton. Drayton then allegedly picked up two knives in the kitchen and chased the teenager, threatening to kill him.
At that point, Trujillo's, Gibran, began wrestling with Drayton in the living room of the home, Trujillo told police.
Drayton is scheduled for an initial hearing on Thursday morning.
The assault charge carries a $20,000 bond; the battery charge carries a $3,000 bond.
