HIV patients may not be using medications to their full benefit. According to a new study, researchers at Johns Hopkins University studied blood samples from more than thirty thousand patients infected with HIV and found the number of people who had suppressed the virus with the help of medication is about ten percent less than they thought.

They say not controlling levels of the virus in the blood could increase the chance patients will spread the virus.
