Man Robbed, Stabbed at Las Cruces Homeless Shelter

Police are trying to figure out who stabbed a man, then stole his wallet at the Gospel Rescue Mission in Las Cruces early this morning.


The 26-year-old victim, who had been beaten and stabbed several times, was found wandering down Valley Drive around 2:30 a.m. by police.


He was taken to University Medical Center in El Paso with non-life-threatening injuries.


Investigators say the man didn't remember how many people attacked him. Based on a description given by the victim, police are looking for a man, possibly in his 50’s, with a gray beard and thinning hair. He was wearing khaki pants, and a gray or greenish shirt.
