EL PASO- We're learning more about the Houston woman connected with Superintendent Garcia’s arrest by the FBI.

The federal indictment charges Garcia and an unnamed person conspired to inflate the actual cost of teaching materials which were sold to the district.

Records obtained by NewsChannel 9 indicate that the other unindicted person is Tracy Rose, also known as Tracy Ledford. Records name her as president of Infinity Resources in Houston.

When the El Paso School District bought nearly $500,000 worth of teaching materials from Infinity Resources in July 2006, the company provided the district with this sole-source affidavit swearing that they were the only company that could provide the materials.

In addition, the company was going to get tens of thousands of dollars for travel expenses. The federal indictment against Garcia states that the actual value of the materials was much less and that Garcia had a personal financial interest in Infinity Resources and a personal relationship with Tracy Rose. Last night after his release on bond, Garcia said he was not guilty and intended to return to work today. That plan went nowhere when the school board president sent word for Garcia to stay away from the district offices.

An employee with the school district who met Rose says this is her picture a picture that is associated with the Twitter account of a Tracy Ledford. NewsChannel 9 has also learned that at one time a Tracy Ledford worked for an educational services company out of Dallas called Cambium Learning Group. The
That was at the same time that a Tracy Rose had set up Infinity Resources at a Post Office box in Houston and got that contract with EPISD.

This is a developing story and we will continue to give you the latest on Garcia and the EPISD as the story continues to unfold.

Tracy Ledford was employed with the district from 11/2/2009 to 9/1/2010," the district said in an e-mail to Texas Watchdog. She was hired as a curriculum specialist, and her position was eliminated Sept. 1, 2010, the district said.

Is there any way our "Rubber Stamping" school trustees, can get her in town to answer some questions in this investigation? Opps!!! sorry, the board would never want to do this and tarnish their or the past boards behavior. Sweep it under the dusty carpet, and forget about it. sorry, Sorry SOOrry, on the Board.
