Volunteer Firefighters Needed to Assist with Texas Wildfires
AUSTIN- Firefighters across the nation are being asked to volunteer to help with the Bastrop, Texas wildfire and one organization is helping to coordinate the relief efforts.
Disaster Relief and Disaster Training (DRADT) teams this week are in Central Texas helping to coordinate volunteers and relief efforts.
DRADT’s goal is the same in every disaster—from Japan and Haiti to all over the United States—to put a simple system in place to communicate the needs of the survivors and put volunteers to work in a way they can make the most difference immediately.
DRADT “quickly came alongside of my team and put systems in place to make our relief efforts successful and sustainable for the long haul. Chance’s clear head and his heart for the local church were incredible assets to have at the table immediately following the disaster,” said Ignite Church Pastor Heath Mooneyham.
DRADT is working on the Central Texas Relief effort in conjunction with Celebration Church in Georgetown (celebrationchurchtx.com), the Austin Disaster Relief Network (adrntx.org) and Foundation Christian Ministries in Bastrop (foundationministry.org).
