A man who was recently convicted of murder is sentenced to spend the next 15 years behind bars. Michael Romero had no reaction and sat motionless as the sentence was read to him this afternoon. Some of his family members were emotional and ran out of the courtroom crying.

Earlier in the day, testimony wrapped up in the sentencing phase of the Romero murder trial.

Romero's attorney told the jury, "It comes down to if you want an eye for an eye or you can decide if rebuilding a young man is the right choice; it's the just choice." But it was the prosecution who got the most reaction from the jury. Prosecuter, Jim Callan got several of the jury members to tear up when he told them to look at the victims mother, Leticia Rodriguez and said, "This case is important to Miss Rodriguez, she'll never have her son back."

It was two years ago when investigators say Valentin Rodriguez was beaten up at a party. He died from those injuries. Rodriguez will be eligible for parole in seven and half years.
